Summer is officially here! It’s time for fun in the sun with friends and family.

Speaking of fun, we had a great turn out to the Summer Social! Special thanks to Cookin’ Art Catering, Du Pauls Catering, Perigeaux Winery, and all of the volunteers! A great time was had by all.  It was a pleasure to meet so many new people from our community and reconnect with loyal clients. We love introducing you to new treatments and products, as well as helping you look and feel great!

Staying Beautiful on the Go!

July is a great time for fun in the sun! You’ve worked so hard all year and now it’s time for that oh so well deserved vacation. While it’s nice to travel and play fancy free, a break in routine and change in climate can really wreak havoc on the hair and skin. How can you enjoy your vacation without negative consequences on your beauty? With proper planning, your vacation will go off without a hitch or zit!

The closer you can stay to your normal routine, the better. If you are traveling by plane, it’s important to remember to carry 3 oz travel size containers that can be put into a ziplock baggie, so you can pass through airport security. It’s essential to keep your skin and hair well hydrated, even more so if you are going to spend time in the sun, whether it’s in the sand or snow. Make sure you also drink plenty of water to replace any fluids lost through sweat and sun. While away, it’s best to use a conditioner everday. Be sure to take along sunscreen to apply to your hair too, so as to keep the color from fading and protect it from drying out. It seems our skin picks up more dirt while on vacation. Perhaps this is due to spending more time outdoors; regardless, nobody wants dirty skin leaving them with clogged pores. Toner is great for a quick clean-up, a quick wipe with a toner soaked cotton pad will keep your skin looking fresh and clean.

Choose less fuss and more fun! Try to keep makeup to a minimum and more natural. Heavy makeup can crease and smudge. Instead, use a light tinted moisturizer and a moisturizing lip balm. Eye drops can sooth the eyes and keep them looking bright. This way, you won’t have to spend so much time in the mirror and can instead enjoy the scenery of your getaway destination.

Best Defense Against Aging

With age comes wisdom, but let’s face it, nobody wants to get old. At least, nobody wants to have the signs and suffering that come with getting old, such as wrinkles, and diseases. With so many anti-aging products on the market, it can be dizzying trying to figure it all out. Besides, many of those over the counter products are not very effective. In this article we are going to help you make certain lifestyle changes to slow the aging process and look more youthful.

One of the biggest culprits of aging are free radicals. Free radicals come from many of the foods we eat, as well as through normal processes, such as digestion. While eating healthy foods aids in fighting aging from within, many of those can also be used externally to further aid in the process. Used topically, green tea helps reduce the amount of UV rays absorbed into the skin, as well it helps fight the damage already done to the skin. What are the benefits of threading my eye brows as opposed to waxing them?

Threading is ideal for those with thinner, more sensitive skin; or anyone using retinols or prescription acne products.
